Oh hellll no! No one messes with the (new) queen of comedy!
While Melissa McCarthy should be excited for her new comedy Identity Theif, movie critic Rex Reed has made it anything but fun.
The New York Observer critic called the actor “tractor-sized,” and continued describing her as “[A] gimmick comedian who has devoted her short career to being obese and obnoxious with equal success.”
Meanwhile, he calls her co-star Jason Bateman “charming, talented, attractive, and versatile.”
Doesn’t he know he should never call a woman fat?
Either way, McCarthy shouldn’t feel discouraged. She already has an Oscar nom under her belt, as well as a BAFTA and SAG nomination, all for her role in the 2011 hit Bridesmaids.
PLUS she won an Emmy for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series last year for Mike and Molly.
Don’t worry Mel, we got your back. Bigger is always better!
